l Nose Bridge Correction
People with low nose bridge may look less dimensional.
In cases like this, it is best to accentuate the nose bridge by inserting silicone or other materials.
However, it is always good to remember that a surgery with a sole purpose to raise the nose bridge is ineffective.
The depth of the nose should be balanced to the size of the face, eyes and mouth.
Often when the bridge is low the tip of the nose is low as well. Therefore, to have a natural looking nose, it is best to alter and raise the whole nose.

Surgery Procedure
Before performing rhinoplasty, it is required that a surgeon shapes and designs the silicone, measuring width and height of the nose bridge, before inserting it into the nose. When the shaping is completed, anesthesia is performed, and 1cm of inner skin of the nose is incisioned to insert the silicone. Tape is fastened around the nose to prevent the silicone from moving after the incisioned area has been sutured.
When raising and shaping the tip of the nose, cartilage from the ear is transplanted for an effective result. Silicone is not used for shaping the tip of the nose due to the sensitivity and thin skin of this specific targeted area. In the case that silicone has been used, there may be side effects. On the other hand, if the cartilage is transplanted, the cartilage becomes part of the nose after 3~6 months providing a natural look.
Advantage
You can have a nose of your desire with a relatively simple nose.
Unlike blepharoplasty, if you do not like the shape of the nose, you can easily remove the inserted materials and bring your old nose back.
Disadvantage
In rare cases, the inserted materials may cause allergic reactions.
Without any reasons, there may be an extreme swelling around the nose and eyes. If this occurs, reoperation is required where the silicone is removed and part of the flesh is replaced.
Aftercare
Swelling can be prevented if you keep your head up straight after the surgery. You can also massage around the eyes with an icepack to reduce swelling.
The tape that is used to keep the nose fixed can be removed 2~3 days after the surgery and on the following 5th day, the thread inside the nose can be removed.
Face wash or make-up is allowed but it is highly recommended that you do not put any pressure to the nose.
Patients who wear glasses on a daily basis are recommended to avoid wearing glasses for about a month.
l Nose Tip Correction
When observing the overall look of African-American nose, the nose bridge is low while the tip is rounded. This type of nose may portray cute and lovely appearance at a young age, but as you get older becomes distant to a mature and sophisticated look.
The reason for a rounded nose tip is because the nose cartilage itself is shaped round. Rounded nose can be easily corrected through shaping and refining of the cartilage.
For men, it is best to straighten and extend the nose to give a masculine look. For women, it is best to raise the tip of the nose for feminine and young look.
Surgery Method
There are various other techniques applied to shape and heighten the nose other than simply shaping the tip of the nose using cartilage.

It is possible to raise and alter the nose into a shape you desire.
Disadvantage
This is a complex surgical procedure in comparison to other general methods.
Aftercare
Tape is secured on the nose after the surgery for 2~3 days in order to put pressure on the nose. This eventually prevents the occurrence of blood clotting.
Face wash and make-up is allowed after the surgeon removes the thread inside the nose 5 days after the surgery.
Diminishing the swelling is same as any other type of nose surgery.
l Beaked Nose Correction
Beaked nose is protuberant due to the downsided nose tip and the part of the nose that protrudes. Therefore, when looked from the side, the nose resembles hawk’s beak, hence the name is a "beaked nose." This type of nose is also known as aquiline nose.
Beaked nose does not only protrude but is usually long and wide in shape. Therefore, it is best to shorten the length and reduce the width of the nose for people with this type of nose.
Due to the complexity of the procedure, it is recommended that you do a thorough research to find an experienced doctor that meets the technical requirements.
To further note, it is necessary that you take some time to make a decision instead of rushing, because the result of surgery is not always successful and may require reoperation.
Surgery Method
Beaked nose refers to nose with protruding mid-section of the nose bridge. Usually the reason for this is due to the excessive growth of nose cartilage and nasal bone.
If the degree of protrusion is not severe, the protruding area is carved down and reshaped with silicone. Also the tip of the nose is raised minimally to create an idealistic shape.
However, if the mid-section of the nose bridge protrudes extremely, the nose can be calibrated through a fracture surgery. Further, inner nose is incisioned to carve and shape the protruding nasal bone for a polished nose bridge. The incisioned area is then sutured and a splinter is placed to fixate the nose.
Advantage
Corrects and reshapes the beaked nose into more polished and attractive nose by narrowing and raising the nose bridge.
Disadvantage
It may take more time than other general surgery.
Aftercare
You can easily reduce and prevent swelling by sitting up straight or massaging the swollen areas with cold ice pack.
The tape or splinter placed to fix the nose is removed 2~3 days after the surgery and sutured thread is removed on the 5th following day. Face wash and make-up is allowed around this time, but it is recommended that you lightly touch and avoid putting pressure to the affected area.
Patients who usually wear glasses are recommended to wear contact lenses for 1 month.
l Wide Nose Tip Correction (nostrils)
A wide nose may look flat and may dominate ones appearance regardless of its decent length and height.
A person may be careless if the nose is fairly tall that it gives an impression of slightly bigger nose, but for a woman this could be a complex.
In cases like this, the outer wall of the nasal bone on both sides of the nose is incisioned and centered to narrow down the nose tip.
Surgery Method
If the surgery requires insertion of the silicone for correction, partial anesthesia is applied.
After anesthesia, inner nose is incisioned and the silicone is inserted.
If the surgery requires nasal fracturing, anesthesia is applied to the whole body. Inner corner of the nose is incisioned and the nasal bone is fractured. Fractured nose bridge is then centered and raised. The incisioned inner corner is sutured and plaster splint is placed on top of the nose bridge to correct the nose for 5~7 days.
Advantage
The nose can be raised and narrowed through silicone insertion and nasal fracturing.
Disadvantage
If the fracturing surgical method is performed, the swelling may last long due to its severity of the operation.
Aftercare
If the silicone has been inserted, you must raise your head to reduce swelling. Also, cold pack massage is helpful to lessen the bruising.
Plaster splint is used to straighten up the nose for one week. It is difficult to gain effective result if you constantly touch the nose.
It usually takes 7~20 days in order for swelling to go down after fracture surgery. The splint and sutured thread is removed 5~7 days after the surgery.
Furthermore, it takes up to 2 weeks for the fractured bones to heal minimally; therefore, it is recommended that you avoid washing the face and applying make-up until the next visit with the specialist.
